The Edith Cavell Day Centre was started in 1986 to meet the needs of older people living in the community. It is held at the Lakenham-Hewett Rugby Football Club on the Main Road in Swardeston and is a registered charity.
Our aim is to improve the lives of older people in a safe and caring environment. We also offer them, their families and carers, much needed support to enable them to continue living in their own homes..Please check out our News page.
We provide a welcome and sociable environment for people to meet, involve themselves in activities and provide an opportunity for carers to have a break. We have volunteer drivers who may be able to collect you from home.
Enjoy friendly company, share a delicious home cooked meal, join in a wide range of activities including reminiscence, craft and exercise sessions.
We provide Chiropody, Hand Care, Extend and a Hearing Aid repair service all under one roof.
The Day Centre is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 am to 3 pm.
You are able to attend as many of these days as you like, please contact us for details.
